Car Seat Safety Program

At a time when car crashes are still a leading cause for death for children it is important that children are buckled correctly and car seats are installed correctly. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration indicates that two out of three car sears are installed incorrectly. In addition, research shows that car seats reduce the risk of fatal injury by 71 percent with infants and 54 percent with toddlers in passenger vehicles. State Law requires child passengers to be restrained in a car seat appropriate for their height until age 8. So as you can see, car seats and booster seats are essential to the safety of children while traveling in a motor vehicle. We have two car seat technicians available to help families in our community.
